Friendly Faces!

Hello loyal readers! We've got another post written by yours truly, Parzival, this time featuring some of the friendly faces you'll encounter along your journey through the world of Rhapsody! The worlds of the Earthbound games have always been filled to the brim with vibrant NPCs, and of course our game is no exception! Without further ado, let's take a look at three NPCs that are of particular importance to some of our game's main characters!

Grandma

Brock's grandma is as caring of a grandmother as any preteen boy could ever ask for. After his parents perished in a lab accident, she took him under her wing and raised him as good as any grandma could, while showering him with love and affection of course. Living off a retired teacher's pension, she doesn't exactly have the most money, but she certainly makes up for it with her almost excessive adoration for Brock. She's always waiting by the phone to hear from Brock on his adventure, and she has an almost endless supply of rice cakes in her purse for some reason. Her motto is "one hug ain't enough" and it certainly shows, with her insatiable urge to hug everyone from the next door neighbor to the mailman.

Gustavo Donofrio

Monica's wealthy father. After he divorced his wife when Monica was a little girl, he drove himself even further into his work and distanced himself from her. As a result, she grew resentful and rebellious towards him when she aged. He means well, but he's not quite as equipped to be a father as he should be. He can be overly strict and controlling at times. After his crushing loneliness got to him, he tried to foster a relationship with his teenage daughter, buying her lavish gifts and pampering her with expensive clothing, but she wanted nothing to do with him. Though the family fortune he inherited was mostly obtained illegally, Mr. Donofrio has steered the business out of its mafia roots and back into a respectable foundation. However, there are still some powerful enemies that have it out for the Donofrios.

Levi

Miles's best (and only) friend who lives at the same foster home as Miles does. The two are inseparable and do almost everything together. He loves nature and fishing as much as Miles does and has a special fondness for the aurora borealis, a rare but spectacular treat sometimes seen on Oracle Mountain. His difficult upbringing has made him into the quiet boy he is today. He loves comic books and science fiction novels, and can often be found at the Bristlecone Library devouring the latest installment in his favorite series. His crooked glasses are prone to fogging up in the cold climate of Bristlecone, but he can't see at all without them. He's as loyal a friend as they come. His biggest achievement was catching that three foot walleye while knee deep in the fierce cold of Shiverbrook River, or at least it was that length in the latest iteration of his story.

That's all for this month's blog post! Believe me, this only scratches the surface. There's plenty more interesting characters to unveil in the story of Earthbound Rhapsody. But until next time! I'll see you in February!
